The life of the eternal Empress, Elizabeth, known as Sisi, staged as an immersive walkthrough.
Our brief was to design and build an entertaining experience showcasing the life of Sisi, in a fresh way that visitors could explore and be surprised by.
By loosely using a ‘day in the life of’ as a construct, we then re-imagined Sisi’s first-hand accounts, thoughts and feelings and brought those to vivid life using the latest technology – from full sized projections to whispering walls and peep hole opera glasses. Sensory storytelling sets the scene; filling the room with a cocoon of heady smells and sounds. Through interactive props and sets visitors can experience the contrast between her public duties and the eccentricities of Sisi’s personal life; creating a whimsical world with waltzing cakes, dancing chandeliers and aroma-infused masks. A ‘dark dressing room’ creates an intimate space where the tragedy of her life is explored; in the mirror Sisi appears for the last time as you sit at her dressing table.
The attraction is in total contrast to traditional ‘museum’ representations of her story, resulting in a new way for guests to learn about one of Vienna’s most iconic public figures.
